[margin left: Roof new Guard House over room 3 S. Bldg.] No excavations. Contractor put on roof of new guard house behind stylobates for room 3 of S. Building. The shuttering was put up yesterday - without my knowledge ( Sunday) and the drawing ignored so that in some places it was the planking is much too low. The result is that behind the west stylobate the roof is as thick as 16 [illegible] cm instead of 9 as it should have been. Behind the south and east stylobates it is 10 1/2 to 12 which is alright! It slopes outward all around 1 cm. to take care of water. The concrete is 1 : √2 : 4 (Standard) Work completed. 12 men worked 8 1/2 hours each receiving 15 s in pay of contractor.
