Removed 00- 3.00 m S. of S. wall and 39.00- 43.60 m e. of s.w. corner p 2633-1, loose light brown earth with fair quantity rough stones averaging about fist size, while frags. which I am but a number up to foot size. Appears to be a stratum of debris rather than fill. About 3/4 wheelbarrow load of tiles which I am stacking by South wall of S. Bldg. at 40.00 m. mr east of S.W. S corner. About 2 buckets (at least) of sherds. 5 pieces of marble pavement - placed with roof tiles, on top of stack. frags of 15 to 16 terracotta lamps F 1679, 3rd to 4th century A.D. 1 box of thin blown glass F 1680, some rims and 6 shells - sea shells - F 1681.
