of chavara do occur immediately over foundation for south wall of building.

[margin left: Room 5 w. side 5.40-11.55 S. of N. wall 2523-1] Removed room 5, W. side, 5.40-11.55 m in south of north wall, p. 2523-1, moderately loose reddish soil, many rough stones averaging foot size, few up to basket size, fair number of smaller stones also; stratum appears to be ancient debris which was later filled in. The bottom of this fill served as foundation for an early floorover the demolished foundation of an early wall running north, south. Remains of this floor occur farther south and along w. stylobate wall. See Film 149- 28, 29, 30. About 1/5-bucket sherds (no late sherds noted) and about bucket of tiles which I have stacked on w. wall at opposite column 4. No other finds.
