Removed S. Bldg. corridor 1 0.00 - 2.00 m. south of north wall, 2293-2, loose a reddish brown soil, very few stones, rough ones only none larger than 1/2 foot size save for one, worked block immediately under threshold block in west wall which may have served for a step. Over one bucket tiles. About 1/6 bucket of sherds - ribbed wares. Dug down to dark stratum at s.w. corner of this area but elsewhere, at this level, soil is still loose reddish soil - few stones - possibly same stratum. Removed also from 2293-2
F 1401 lamp frags. F 1401 and glass 1402 frags = 1402, and some bones animal bones which I am placing in sherd bag, unnumbered. Stacking tiles just south of threshold block in west wall.
