DIARY 5 July '50 2240 2241- Removed from sieve 2241-1,2 1,2,3 and 3, 1/12 bucket of sherds SIEVE and few animal bones (in sherd bag). Washed. Nothing as late as Roman noted.
2245- Removed from sieve dep 2245-1,2,3, & 4, 1/12 bucket 1,2,3,4 sherds, looks Hellenistic. Also SIEVE small box of bones and small box of glass, including thin blown glass - hence as late as Augustus.
Tr 11 Removed Trench 11, N 10-13, N 10-13 E 1-2, 0-0.10 m below E 1-2 terrace wall (dug by Mr. Hill 0-10 this spring) about 1/8 below bucket of sherds including top 2 fine frags of red wares - of a base & a rim - and terrace a Broneer type xxii lamp wall frag, F 1564 No tiles. F 1564 No other finds.
