DIARY 2152 S.E. Bldg room 3 1887-5 Sieve F F1257-62 1264-73 1286

[margin left: Sieve F 1287-97]

Cont. from p. 2140. 8 June or finds lying on "5" (1887-5) were 1257-1262 incl.; 1264-1273 and 1276-1283. About 3/4 of an egg shell (hens egg) thrown out; F1286 also came from here. As I write a bit of rock from the bedrock floor of room 3 has caved in to another cistern or cave below leaving a round hole in the floor.

Have sieved 1887-5 and removed about 3 handfuls of sherds, 10 coins (F 1287-96), a box of lamp frags. F1298 and a box of metal frag. F 1297.

9 June50 Removed S.E. Bldg. north portico, E 16-22, p 2161-1 (a & b) consistent fill of many small rough stones and chips, dark soil, very loose fill - probably almost certainly the fill of an intrusive pit, as it goes well below the floor level, and foundation of any floor that might have been. About 1 1/2 wheelbarrow loads of sherds, and 2 wheel barrow loads of tiles
