A. 25 May 1950 cont. fr. p. room 2 1939-8 Removed Temple A, west of temple, room 2, 1939-8 dull light brown soil, loose, with many rough stones for which see Film 140-22; about 3/4 bucket of sherds, 6 small tile frags which I am placing on S. W. corner on wall of room; one ter. lamp frag., saucer type, F 1097, and some water pipe F 1097 frags F 1098. Judging from 1098 unwashed sherds this appears to have been a much earlier stratum than the ones above it. For top of 1939-9 see Film 140-21.
S.E.Bldg. S.E. Bldg. room 2, sieved room 2 Sieve 1667-5, 1885-5 and 1667-6 1885-6, sherds only, no finds.
Tr. 11 S.E. Bldg. [Tr 11] removed E 0-6 E 0-6 S 11.50-14.00, strat. 2 S 11.50-14.00 reddish fairly compact, soilstrat. 2 debris - many rough stones- 2033-1 about 1/4 bucket sherds, at least a wheel barrow load of tiles which I am stacking up at E 12 F 1099- and S 10 in court. From here 1102 came 4 gems F 1099-1102 incl. incl. and frags large water jar F 1103. F 1103 but a little further south at 11.50.
