DIARY 12 May '50 1902
Finished removing Temple A, west cella, center, N 5-8, 1757-4 loose reddish soil, many rough stones of various size-all fill, not quite a bucket of sherds, no tiles, no finds; also same area 1757-5, much lighter colored fill, many chips and small stones, about + 12/ bucket sherds, no tiles or other finds. An early wall with different orientation crosses nave at about 7.00 north; the soil below 1757-5 from 0-.50 m south of south face is quite different from red soil further south which is like 1759-5. The soil along early wall is dark (not yet excavated), possibly - most likely a footing trench for early wall. This is in area approx North 6.60-7.00; strat 6 of red soil south of it is marked N 5.00-6.30, instead of N 5.00-8.00 as on upper strata. I have labeled what may be the footing trench 1757-6 [illegible] p. 1901-T6 (opposite page). See Diary p. 1959 for 1757-6 N [1901-6N]. 1757-4 1757-5 1757-6 1901-6
