DIARY earlier floor level, and not of the late floor level. Began removing p 1659-3 (between 2 and 3) 0-2 m west of porch, reddish brown loose soil with rough stones-not many - mostly smaller than fist size.

Temple A 1709-1 In TEMPLE, E CELLA, CENTER NORTH 4.00 - 17.00 digging down from depth of 0.50 m below bottom of orthostates in fill thrown in to serve as foundation for floor (p. 1709-1), north of 10 m. north, this is a hard whitish fell; but south of this it is reddish and loose. The hard whitish fill consists of clean chavara - without earth stones or tiles and only very few sherds. It was deliberately strewn probably to serve as a foundation for a floor. It is possible that this floor may ante-date the present building. There is an intrusive pit at 11.00 north on the west side of the E. cella center which I am beginning

1711-2 to dig out before continuing with 1711-2 & 1709-2.
