Propylon porch 1659- Finished digging down to approx. late floor level in propylon porch, removing turf which has grown here since the war. See. Film 131- 11 & 12, and sections pp. 1659. After removing turf in some areas we may be below floor level, and deeper than we dug here before the war.

1 April'50 W. Bldg. Arch bl. 209 495-504 Removed from W. Bldg. room 1, capital, arch blk no. 209. See Film 131 - 13 & 14 & notes thereon, and pp 495-504 Floor level may well have been slightly below level at which capital was found to be lying but only very little. The level was a deliberate fill thrown in over rock to serve as a floor & level out the un-even levels of the bedrock.
