Note some very small frags of Roman lamps (1st cent, A.D.) coming from sieve belonging to strat. 8. center. Began removing to the rest of strat. 9, the strat. over the cistern floor from 0 - 65 cm from the walls. No change from that removed from 65 cm to center but all finds being removed separately.
Room 2 hypocaust Mehmet under Mr. Hills direction continues to dig in n.w. corner of room 2 hypocaust n. of flue leading from room 3 and between pillasters and first row of piers. He finished removing upper strat. of brown soil and began removing black accumulation over fr. floor dating from period of final use. Find F 703 in upper strat. of this.
