DIARY (Cont from p. 1740) Removing Bath, Tr 9, o-p, north 16-18 surface soil, (north of central room.) Removing Bath, Tr. 9, k-µ, north 14-18 surface soil in among heavy debris of large, worked blocks - no sherds only tiles. Removing tiles to a distance of 8 meters north of this section of Bath, and stacking them up. Also digging µ-ξ of central room, µ-ξ north 14-18, surface soil in among heavy debris of large blocks - no sherds here either-only tiles - removing tiles & stacking them 8 meters to north of area. All the soil in these last two areas is very dark, due doubtless to vegetation and lack of any concentrated amount of decomposed building matter. It is quite different from the soil found within the heavy debris in the central & eastern part of the Bath, where almost all of it immediately below the surface was light buff brown Immediately south of East Room (Bath) σ-τ, north 9+14 - debris produced only 2 nondescript sherds /(over)
