24 May 1948 Continuing to remove strat 3 in kitchen = the strat. immediately below floor level. See section p. 1013. Removing debris, Street 1, A-M, west 4-12 (strat. 2). Many tiles and rough stones. Also I-K west 4-6, with many rough bldg. stones, but not many tiles so far. Began removing pl 1017 - 2 Trench 9, 17-p-i, north 2.5 cleaning out old trenches northwest of site, just outside precinct wall. / Mr Hill + Youngs went to Khirokitia to see Dikaios dig there this morning. They are visiting Sotira this afternoon. Great quantities of tiles coming out of Street 1, A-M, west 4-8 strat. 2 west 4-8 (1 large bag) and west 8-12 (4 small bags). Strangely enough, however, few stones in this area - no worked stones, only moderate size rough stones. Bones and very little glass coming out of A-M west 4-8. Many sherds also from I-K west 4-8 strat 2 (2 large bags) also K-M west 4-8 (2 large bags)
