DIARY 892 10 Dec cont. from p. 888. Continued digging Trench 9, ε- η, ε/3- η/3, north 9-14 down to dump of rough stones. See Film 103 #21. Also Trench 9, just outside n.e. corner of court down to debris. See Film 103 #20. Extending Trench 10, ε/3-η/3, 14/3-16/3 northsurface soil. Finished removing surface soil Trench 9, ε/3-η/3, north 6-9, and began digging out what appears to be large footing trench for west and south walls of room here. See Film 103, #22. Dug p. 859-5.
11 December Trench 9, β-γ, north 7-9 east of wall from top of good block to bottom of it. Trench 9 β-γ, north 14.50 between walls, finished removing fallen mud, probably from roof. Filling Trench 10, A-Z, east 4-6, all but drain and rock-hewn trench. Found that terracotta pipe is blocked off by pipe 7 stone just before reaching drain at A, 20 east (Lv. 10). Finished digging for the time being Trench 9, ε-η, north 9-14.
