Trench 10, I-Z, east 10-12, aft removing 2d stratum. Trench 10 I-E east 4-6, removed 2d strat (all but sample of subfoundation for pavement between 4 & E) and strat. 3, E-Z in rock hewn ditch. Trench 10, A-AB west 10-12 first stratum (surface soil) and A-Y, surface soil, and A-Y, west 12-14, surface soil.
26 & 27 Nov. work called off on account of rain. Rained both days up to 10.00 AM, only but weather looked very threatening
28 Nov. Fine clear weather. Removing surface soil: Trench 10, A-B, east 22-26. Trench 10, A-Y, west 16-18 surface soil down to Mr. Hill continues digging north and east of East Building. Trench 10, A-E, strat 4 - (in rock-hewn trench) east - 10-12 Tracing drain system east into Trench 9 system. Dug Trench 9, S-E, south 8-10. Also cleared out part of drain leading from πλατεῖα between South Bldg and Street 1
