31 OctoberContinued cleaning Street 1. Finished trial pit begun yesterday (see p. 691). Note cutting in rock and how it resembles those west of Temple B. May belong to same system of rock hewn trenches for unknown purpose. Began another trial pit 85 cm to south of one begun yesterday. See plan & section p. 695. Began removing large stones and debris at north end of south section of street - east side. See Film 97 # 14, 15, 18 & 19. For trial pit of p. 691 see Film 97 #20.
