(10/III/42) The N entrance to Tomb 1 as now cleared inside and outside or inner of the stones blocking of it : below the stones are two steps in the dromos the both are very low, I think somewhat cut down since the section was drawn. The top of the upper step seems to be the end of a single slope up to near the upper end of the cutting into the dromos of Tomb 9. There are 2 steps again to the floor level of that dromos. The vertical slab remaining on the west side (the other had fallen over #1) rested has fallen from its position as we cleared away some earth washing its S side. It has been propped up perilously and not in exact position as found. It rested on earth, not on rock. There was no rock to hold it [left?] part of it out here. It stood free of the side of the entrance. Behind it earth and stones.

In clearing so far, no sherds, save in among the smaller stones in this entrance, behind where the vertical slab had been, piece of a pale alabastron. [fragment?] {?in greater [illegible] p 220 Photo, 43.31, 29 of door, unfortunately after fall (and readjustment) of tall slab in the N entrance of Tomb 1. Removing field stone & earth.
