105 This drain is presumably forecourt between two entrances, however it is about [illegible] the highest point in the forecourt. Was the soil this high or was if the drain water did not come directly from roof it must have been. Did the soil slope up into this corner. There seems to have been no wall to contain it. Was the forecourt drained by two drains one sloping to lavatories the other sloping to sour east xtension of south wall of Peter Room K.

The levels of drain and wall must be checked.

May not this earlier drain have followed course of second wall from north just clearing southwest corner of stair tower. It certainly made a number of turns before reaching this point.

being built on the fill south of cliff. This NS wall were brings up the question of the older drain, from outside which goes around the corner. This drain is probably later than building 1b or at least the NW extension of this building, for it would seem unlikely that it would constructed through it. On the other hand it must can later than the building of the second period whose lines it seems to follow. How could this drain have been used with second period but not that of palace? If there was soil on top of embanniny of drain, it would seem that drain could not then have been used unless it was covered over, of which covering there is [illegible] no evidence.
