The west wall of green-lettered rooms must have been of second period. That every stone was removed shows that the stones were stones with at least two good faces otherwise why go to trouble to take all poor the stones when there were so many good stones around. In the period of the palace there were no good the walls were built of odd stones not well cut stones. The walls across between two walls may have been built with when soil was thrown in with them. The north wall of south part of room Alpha was the end wall of the second period built where it was to take into account the stairtower of theater. When the men who took these stones arrived at end wall which forms part of ovular end, they removed stones till they arrived at east wall of green lettered rooms. Note that although south wall of Christian mosaic rests in part on no foundation, its west south boundary is determined by wall of ovular and its east by cistern. under flag stones. Note it bulges a little in middle.
