It seems safe to say that there are two to distinct periods of fill one with the fourth layer and above about 60 cm, and one from fourth layer to ground about 60 cm. The fill in NW corner probably goes with fourth layer. As there are jugs us for water found in the fourth layer, it may be that this fill was thrown in after the buildi as a result of the reconstruction from a bath to a waterless building. For but if it is contemporary with the fill in cellar under flagstones the period of use from after 408 to after 664 is so seems long that a period of disuse not unlikely. The fill in the 8-9 layer would be part of the fill from the fourth, which has fallen down on the sides. Though pots 2182 from ninth and fourth layers and Sh 1370. As, however, the distinction between the two spe the soil in NW corner has not always been observed those phes sherds which join may well come from this the part of NW corner.
