It is obvious that the wall for the south wall of room west of large was cut built after the sixth fifth layer layer west part fifth layer east part which are the same layer were laid. This means that the fourth layer east part and fifth layer west part are contemporary with the original plan of room, and third and second in east part and third west part are contemporary with the change of plan utilizing the columns. The first and second layers west part first layer East part being contemporary with last repairs or change, and probably with that when building was changed from a bath.

What is the meaning of this lea edge in the SW corner of large room. Can they have built the wall floor up to this level and then laid the floor and from there are on up built the wall using the added height of the floor to help \in\ reach to the upper part of wall. Or is this the part of the wall beyond this change contemporary with the third layer and the destruction of the mid walls. I incline to the former if it is a proposition, because of the coin of Honorius, though its quite possible that the reconstruction in this room subsequent to the original plan may have involved not only the midwall but the south and north E W walls. However such a large reconstruction necessitates a recontruction in Peli's Room 4 and for this there is no evidence. Rather it would seem that the builder of the wall disregarded the appearance of the wall below the trenches he had dug. Above the level of the trenches he was more careful. Certainly in the upper the west wall and south wall are bonded.
