Room Q, cleared holes on west side south end, was south end west side and north end west side. The black layer seems definitely to been connected with these holes for in all cases the four west ones which we dug out, in three the plaster seemed to flow down them. At least it was far the higher in the back than the front. The one to the North it did not flow down. In one case the gray seemed to take a similar course. There is much less gray in Eastern half of room. Removed slight deposit over bed rock.
Room V Fifth layer when cleared revealed floor. In fifth layer, very few sherds but a number of pieces of tile. Some roof tiles were were in much larger sections pieces than in those above. In all except S W corner of Room, stones with loose soil and trunks of cement went down to floor. In sw corner, a layer of clay & more more clay and wood went to floor. Work stopped 10:00
