Dig below 3.78 = 3.89, and find a redder level at 3.14 4.13 (h) = 3.88 4.10 (g). Loose stones show through. In the west this level is a mass of fallen stones.
Dig below 3.88 = 3.91, and find a level of slightly redder earth at 4.04. There are still more stones showing at this level.
6-6-38Today we have finished removing the clean red-brown earth below 4.04 (= 3.92) in 15:3 and 5, and finding everywhere a continuous level of stones, sloping down toward the east. It looks like tumble, but its regularity inclines one to think of an intentional fill.
In the S.W. (15:5) there are several big chavara blocks lying flush with earth with much decomposed chavara. The red-brown earth came directly down on this, without the stony layer.
This level lies at 3.67 (N-W) = 3.95 (S.W) = 4.00 (N.E) = 4.02 (W center) = 4.28 (S-E) = 4.34 (N-E corner of 15:5).
