— Tr.2, Unit 26 — insert on p. 37

The east wall of the unit is actually double, and of two different periods. The inner part rests on the 10.93=10.97 floor, but the outer is earlier, and goes to the 10.95= 11.01 floor (11.03 at outer corner of wall).

it goes under it, and it has been built in from the bottom up, as foundation for the wall. It was filled with sandy light redbrown earth.

The 10.50=10.70 floor of unit 20 is in part as noted on p. 33, but bed-rock is visible in several places. The post-support and the large stones rest on the 10.45=10.70 floor.

Unit 26: The inner east wall rested on the 10.93=10.97 floor. It is not, as I first thought, two walls, one earlier, the other a later reinforcement, or, if it is, they both belong to the same floor-level (see p. 36) [margin left: INSERT FROM p. 36]

The 10.95=11.01 floor level continues without a break out the door and into unit 21. In the door the earth is still harder, with more lime grits and some small stones. This is the same as the 10.99=11.05 level in unit 21, old section, and 11.06 in the extension, and the 11.08 floor in unit 22.

The wall to unit 17 is set in a footing trench sunk through the 10.95=11.01 floor, filled with loose brown earth. (To p. 39)
