found at its top, but it is not absolutely certain that they were intended for sealing it, as there was a good deal of fallen matter in the S-W corner of the unit and this may simply be the last of it. The opening is roughly circular, 0.65 in diameter. The fill is of decomposed sandstone but with somewhat more earth than that of pit # 1, and therefore darker in colour. The 10.33=10.41 floor was a much trodden accumulation, primarily of clay and ash over the 10.39=10.44 chavara floor.

Unit 5: complete the clearing of the 9.36=9.51 floor, including the fireplace in the center.
