Units 9, 10, 11: Finish clearing out the disturbed earth. The disturbance goes from 9.65 in unit 9, leaving parts higher, to 10.62 in unit 10, and in unit 11. Unit 4: Dig below the 9.43- [9.58 / 62] floor level, finding a proper floor at 9.69 9.44 = 9.61

Extend the area of the trench over units 8 and 11.

Unit 4: The earth between the 9.59=9.74 9.43=9.58 level and the 9.44= 9.62=9.75 is typical earth wall debris, red earth with stone particles, sand, etc. There is a good deal of pottery in situ — some was visible above the 9.43 = 9.58 level. The earth is red brown, very sandy, and with many white particles of decomposed vegetable matter. The floor is similar, but it contains a fair quantity of clay, and there is some ash on the surface.

29.3.37 Unit 4: Finish clearing the floor at 9.44 = 9.71. It is of sandy brown earth with grit and some decomposed vegetable matter. Several stone slabs and potsherds on it.
