26.3.37| TRENCH 4 from p. 17 stones of varying size and height. The sherds of pot #1 on the plan J.F.D. III, p. 160 continue into the intrusion.
Units 9 + 12: Continue clearing the 10.00 = 10.02 floor in unit 9 and the 10.05 in unit 12 (formerly called unit 9 South). Find a wall of clay and some stones between units 9 + 12. The north part of unit 12 ends at a floor of sandy red-brown earth with some ash, at 10.05. In the south the fill continues on down to a very sandy layer at 10.20. This partly covers pot in situ, so it is not a floor. Extend in units 10 and 11.
27.3.37 Unit 13: Cleared to 9.92 = 10.12 floor, of packed earth. Great masses of sherds on floor. The floor slopes up from S. to N. Photos Bam 33, 340 Unit 13 @ 9.92 = 10.12 Photo Bam 35 of Unit 12, wall to unit 7, before removing fallen stones.
Remove the sherds from the floor of unit 13. They lie on earth accumulated over the real floor, of packed earth with a great deal (to p. 27)
