In pit f we found bed-rock at 0.90, sloping off S-E to a depth of 1.80 at 1.80m. S.E.. It seems likely that this leads to a tomb of the type of tomb no. 31. Due to the depth of the soil and the great labour involved in digging it we tell the laborers that there is no tomb, and leave it for the time being.
In pit g we reach bed-rock at 0.90. It seems to be shelving off, and is of very poor quality, with a vein of earth beneath it.
Locate the door of tomb no. 30, at the west end of the dromos.
Today Σαλῆχ Χασσᾶν and Ὑσεῖν failed to appear at work. This is a second offence for Salikh, who organized a walk-out last year, so he is not to be re-hired. Achmet Sia joined us today, and, in the afternoon, Γιακουμῆς Γιακουμῆ. For tomorrow I expect Hassan Ibrahim at Κοσμάτζης. I also asked Achmet and Iakoumis to bring two men each.
