8 The original height of the top of course 3 at the Southwest corner was -0.04m, and at the east end of the extant course, at 28.80m east of A is -0.13m. The three most easterly blocks of course found in situ by us condition and were subsequently removed in the reconstruction of the wall here (see plan). The height of the next course is approximately 0.52m throughout. No ashlar masonry courses above course 3 remain in situ. As so very few worked blocks occurred in the debris in this vicinity, it is very probable that the south wall above course 3 consisted largely of masonry much like that of the north wall and (stairs and the east and west walls) of the the five irregular B-courses which at this level consist also of rough masonry only.
