The north end of the foundation course on the east face runs under the foundation of the north wall in such a way as to make certain that it was constructed before the masonry of the north wall immediately above it, the wall above the foundation is not bonded into the north wall but terminates against its south face. At the south end the foundation terminates against the foundation of the south wall. The ashlar blocks in course 1 at the south end however extend through the thickness of the south wall. Elsewhere the wall terminates against the north face of the south wall, though above course 3 [illegible] a rough masonry which is preserved
