Nov. 21 Trench 4 building in mound probably a temple measuring very roughly 15.50 x 6.20 m. Continued to remove surface soil in & around bldg. 22 men 6 wheelbarrows. Dug out trench in gully of St. Anne a few hundred metres east of Apollo by main road.

Nov. 22 Same in Apollo. Removed surface soil. Trench 1 St. Anne found late small statues of rather crude workmanship. See Film 2 nos. 37 p. 29. 4 metres north of trench 1.

Nov. 23 Same at Apollo but removed small stones in mound (debris) in promaos of Temple B. In St. Anne Tr. 1 started K-Lambda north 0-4, also Z-Theta north 4-6.

Nov. 25 (Monday) Apollo Tr. 5 started digging surface soil A-Xi. Trench 1 St. Anne continued digging surface soil. Tr. 1 stopped on account of rain at about 3.15 P.M. 36 men.

Nov. 26 St. Anne Tr. 1 same as yesterday. Also began A-M ? north 0-6. Move crude late sculptural frags. found here. At Apollo began removing stratum under surface soil pronaos. A-Theta also H-___ 1st stratum Tr. 6 Apollo A-M first stratum. Continued to remove surface soil in vicinity.

Nov. 26 (cont'd) Tr. 6 Theta-Z second stratum dug. Began Apollo Tr. 5 Lambda-___ 1st stratum. Found that/stairway leads to entrance of pro-naos. 39 men. See plan p. 26. Nov. 27. Continued digging in same area St. Anne Tr. 1 - 2nd stratum Iota ? -Lambda contained nothing. Apollo Tr. 5 Delta-E west 6-10 began Began Tr. 5 Gamma-Delta 2d stratum See phot. p. 37 no. 27 Also began Tr. 5 A-a. first stratum (surface soil) 39 men. Nov. 28. St. Anne. Dug only Tr. 1 K-M north 0-8 - began M-N north 4-8 A-M south 0-4. Apollo removed all but sample of fourth stratum of pro-naos of Tr. 4 temple. Another sample of stratum 4 removed by mistake of workman in charge. This was to have been in northeast corner of pro-naos. One, however, should suffice. Tr. 5 E-N second stratum removed to pavement. Also Gamma(?)-Delta. Began removing also K-Delta second stratum loose stone surface to stratum loose stone surface to of Gamma to Lambda. Nov. 29. Work called off at start on account of rain.
