NB I, pp. 92 ff.
July 2, 1934 Draw longitudinal section of earth in dromos. Dromos 7.10 long from back of top step to earth over door at top level of bed-rock at sides. Floor of dromos filled with stones. [handwritten: Shells in dromos]
July 3 Draw bird's-eye view of dromos.
July 4 Photo X, 12 of dromos of Tomb 19
Remove stones from dromos of Tomb 19. Their average size is 10-20 x 20-30 x 20-30, though some are larger (two 55 x 40 x 30, one 40 x 40 x 50). They seem to have been placed here in their natural condition: they are naturally worn, not cut.
July 5 Open tomb. Stone 70 x 50 x 20 lying flat in front of doorway.
Photo XI, 5 of door of Tomb 19 XI, 6 ditto farther off.
Draw cross-section of dromos, 2.00 from facade, showing door.
July 6 The northern part of Tomb 19 was robbed from above, the shaft out by the robbers proceeding into the bed-rock floor. The bones in this part are disturbed, but lying on the floor, as is also the (broken) pottery.
Due to the danger of caving in, as the tomb is very large and the earth in the robbed part is not very secure, we leave a column of earth in the N-E corner.
July 7 Finish drawing Tomb 19.
