5.5 cm. in length, diameter .9 cm. (all discarded). The size of the "dromos" is 60 cm. x 60 cm., depth ca. 25 cm. Width of chamber 65 cm., depth 35 cm., length 65 cm.

July 28, 1954Clear chamber to level of upper burial, about 1.3 m. below bottom of roof of stoma. There are remains of at least one skeleton (Skel.No.1) partially in situ (NE). Fragments of other skeletons are scattered along the S. and W. sides. There are many pots in conjunction with all these, none in the middle or under the stoma entrance. Most of the pots are intact or only slightly damaged. After, however, along the S. wall are broken and seemingly in chance positions as if they had been pushed back at the time of the north burial. Covering this burial level was a layer of fine rather sandy earth, greenish in chance positions as if reddish brown elsewhere, 40-50 cm. in depth. Clear pots completely, draw in situ, photograph and remove.

July 29, 1954Remove Skeleton I and skulls II-V. Go below these and immediately come upon a small heap of skulls with a mass of broken pottery, a few pieces intact, pushed back against the S. side of the tomb. This pottery also appears to be L.C.III. There is no change of earth but the pottery is associated with a fairly hard, firmly packed floor surface. There is a good possibility that some of the stones found among and below the pots on the south side of the tomb at the -1.26 (-1.46) level may have been thrown over the debris swept back at the -1.46 (-1.62) level to cover it. Draw and remove pots.

Clear everywhere to the -1.62 level, finding on the SW side of the chamber a skeleton, complete except for head,in place: feet towards SE, right leg and right arm crooked, left arm and leg straight. Right arm rests on a stone which appears to be regularly cut but broken, right lower leg rests on what may be a mud brick. At the same level find many fragments of a WS bowl just below the stone; along the NE side find a skull (IX), a deep bowl (?), squat jug, and shallow bowl, the latter two well preserved. The floor space widens toward the NE corner, giving the floor plan constantly a more tetragonal aspect. It seems likely that this skeleton (X) is also LC III. Its head must be either Skull IX or Skull W. Draw and remove skeleton and pots.
