BAMBOULA, TOMB 33 NB VII, p. 173
9 May 1939 Discover Tomb 33 half way between Tombs 19 and 32. The dromos was on the north, opening onto a double chamber. The roof of the west chamber is preserved, not the east. The east chamber is plundered.
Margin right: according to sketch: loose earth, black above, red-brown below.
The west chamber is full to the roof of dark earth and fallen matter. 1.00 below the highest part of the roof the dark earth gives way to brown clayey earth with particles of chavara, and clear evidence of rain water. Numerous pots lie on and in this level.
In the west the loose fill stops with a level of pots and bones thrown aside, in clayey brown earth with white grits; in the center it goes down, browner now, on to a group of L.C. IIIB pots (nos. ..3. to ..13.). The two jugs at the north (nos. ..1. and ..2.) belong to this same group. In the east there is a large platform, well built of stones set in loose green konnos. Two leg bones lie on it, as also the pots ..17-20. and the mortar and pestle. The pot no 13 lies 0.20 over the platform. It seems to have floated.
The bones on the platform seem to be in situ, the sole remnants of the last burial, that of pots ..1-16. . The platform was disturbed in the east. Pots ..15. and .16., found in the earth over the tomb, probably come from the east platform.
