TOMB 12

A clear stratified sequence was observable in tomb 12. The earliest objects found in-situ are those on the floor south (A(2)) and on the floor west (A(3)). Perhaps earlier than these is a group of objects found swept aside along the east side of the tomb (A(1)). These are possibly contemporary with group B, in no case later. B is a large heap of objects and skeletal remains swept up against the north wall of the tomb. Adjoining this on the west is a later heap of objects, D. Some of the objects of D were swept on to the top of the earlier B. The objects in this group belong in part to B, in part to D. Another intrusive mixture is in that on the tomb the only one which was found in-situ. The latest burial in the tomb found in-situ, is E. Skeletons I-II belong to this burial.
