Area E House IV 1954

20:9 (1948) G7½ found clearing trench [handwritten: 20:9 (1948) G7½ found clearing trench] 20:9 Freeing the wall of House E.IV, Room 3 yielded only plain wares with the exception of fragments of a WhP III-IV amphora. These latter undoubtedly found their way there at the same time as the so-called "Stable"(T.31) were accumulating. The sherds in the debris blocking the entrance from Room 3 to the "Stable" were: 92% Plain (incl. 6 PWMII) 1 sherd LC III Dec. Bowl 1 " BR 1 " Red slip

21:25 The greater part of the area predicated as a continuation of House IV.2 proved to lie outside the house, being perhaps a courtyard with a basin, to which access was gained by a stairway from Room 3. The relatively shallow soil here yielded a high proportion of geometric and archaic sherds. In the pit connecting with the "Stable" in the NE corner of the area dug only plain wares were found, but these included a few PWM II.
