Area E House V
In 1948, Daniel investigated the area in and outside the east corner of House V (room 8). Only plain ware, including 5 sherds of PWM II, was found in the area of the 9.46 floor removed. (20:11 In 9.46 plaster floor). The 9.46 floor was superimposed over a firm level at 9.50. Below this level, the first which may be associated with House V, was found a fill of gritty red earth going to about 9.65. This appears to be part of a general fill in the area of House V and continuing to the E and SE of it, antedating its construction. All the walls of V.8 are cut into this fill.
