Supplementary remarks on Stratification

Area A. House VIII A deposit under the northeast end of Rooms 3 and 4 appears to be of LC II date. It consisted of the following:

[red: 1] 75% Plain ware, including some Plain Wheelmade II ware 1 sherd Myc. III (Sh 99) 2 " WS II 1 " BR 1 " Brown Burnished 1 " Wash ware 5 " Red Polished

Deposit of the LC I A period was found in the outside angle of the northwest wall of Room 1 and the southwest wall of Room 3. [insertion: C[rep.000 A]D?] An early wall of which traces remain under the southwest side of Rooms 3 and 4 perhaps belongs to a house of the LC II period lying southwest of House VIII, although it is possible that it formed part of House VI. a. The footing trench of the early wall at the southwest side of Room 4 yielded: 90% plain ware sherds (mostly pithos ware) and one sherd Myc. III B.

Area A. House V Sherds from the accumulation in Room 5. are listed below. It is uncertain whether they are of Stratum D (2) or E (2) or both. In addition to the sherds M 15, 23 and 36 are associated with this level.

[red: 2] 70% Plain ware (incl. 46 PWM II) 48 sherds LC III. Dec. 1 " H-m bucchero 3 " WS (two are WS II) 1 " BR 3 " Wash 1 " Black Slip 4 " Misc. burnished
