9.The Travelers' Guide to Cyprus (London: Bobbs-Merrill, 1971) pp. 78 and 239. On page 78 she gives the quakes at Salamis as occurring in 334 and 345 while on page 239 they occur in 332 and 342. This book is widely read and has done much to promote general acceptance of the early destruction date for Paphos. Roger Milliex, Chypre (Geneva: Nagel Guides, 1973) gives 322 and 342 for the destruction of Kourion (page 97) and 323 and 333 for Paphos!

16.This article does not rule out the possibility of earlier, more local quakes doing some damage in the 330s and 340s but since Kourion was little affected by the quakes which destroyed Salamis we must reject the attempts to connect Paphos with the disasters on the eastern coast of Cyprus.
