The proclamation of the existence of some form of morality was not the only purpose of this inscription. However, before considering the purpose of the inscription, [handwritten: ἐξέδρα][handwritten: 3] [handwritten: further] and [handwritten: location] must first be located. [handwritten: ἐξέδρα] is part of a building. Since it is the first word of the inscription, one may reasonably assume that it denotes the room in which it is placed. There [handwritten: are] one generic name of the room in which it is placed in the cruciform church at Chaoussie near to Antioch, three mosaic inscriptions-one dated, 387- with the same word, [handwritten: ἐξέδρα] [handwritten: 250] [handwritten: 249] In these inscriptions, it [handwritten: must can not put] mean the oblong rooms which [handwritten: 251] extend out from the square central chancel. As in the inscriptions in the church at Chaoussie, [handwritten: ἐξέδρα] denotes the oblong rooms which extend out from the central square, so here in

As [handwritten: ἐξέδρα] may be part of a church, it is not impossible that the room in our building formed the setting for a religious performance. This [handwritten: ἐξέδρα] is tended by at least two
