Palace 3 drains running into cisterns to collect rain water 4 pillars Evidence for date Slight as yet, but in perfect agreement with what we know of Kourion as a whole. Evidence for date. Almost no finds except for mosaics Few frags. of inscriptions, even coins not plentiful. This indicates that the fate cuttings in S room gave 3 coins, one of Macrinus ( AD.), another similar, & 3d quite illegible. Pit under long hall gave pottery of 2nd to 3d century date. Coins on floors not later than ca 360. A few early 5th century coins Christian, in its later phase in top-soil. These facts indicate that the palace as we have it was built in the third century and abandoned in late 4th when Kourion was destroyed by earthquake. It probably did not collapse at once, but may have stood stood unused & into the 5th century. This explains lack of finds. Mosaics
