The figures are given in low relief. The modelling is realistic and the artist has laid great emphasis on showing the powerful musculature of the bulls, deep and broad + even his bony structure one musculation of the man's calves and ankles is also clearly indicated. On the other hand features of the bull's head have been summarily indicated. The eyes are not shown at all and one cannot be sure where the mouth is. This is in contrast to the meticulously rendered hooves of the beast! The features of the man's head are rendered quite clearly but all between chest and calves is done most summarily. Hands are not shown at all and the everything portion is not really carried through anatomically. It is possible that the man is supposed to be wearing a knee length garment

6. Abh. (Heidelberg 1922) p. 88, with references] Although Egyptian representations countenance considerable variety in the posture of the bulls - in fact they are even shown being separated at times [A. Blackman The Rock Tombs of Meir I London 1914 Pl. XI] - the most usual representation is of two bulls seen in profile pushing forehead to forehead, while an attendant with a stick stands behind each, to spur on or separate the bulls as the case may be. A representation startlingly similar to ours occurs in Tomb 17 at Beni Hasan [P. Newberry Beni Hasan II London 1894 Pl. XII]. The bulls' stance, position of tail, neck and head, proportions of men, are remarkably in accord
