MEMORANDUM

TO: Roger Edwards FROM: Von Bair [handwritten: signature] DATE: 10 April 1981 SUBJ: Allocations for field work and publication

The purpose of this memorandum is to confirm the award of the allocations listed below. You are aware that requests for allocations this year far exceeded the funds available, and that many requests were initially tabled. Because of the challenge gift of Otto Haas and the matching contributions of the members of the Board of Overseers, in addition to a pledge received from Mr. John Ware III through the Development Office, the Museum is now able to fund all of the requests received. You are probably aware of the events that have transpired, and some researchers have already drawn on the allocations made. However, we have not made formal notification of the allocations due to a variety of complications; we may now confirm the following awards:

Please accept my personal best wishes for a successful year of research and publication.
