May 27, 1982Dear Ellen:

During 1981 we obtained from Museum funds the sum of 1,426.52 for photography for your Cypriote picture book. We have spent 68.19, for the study photographs I did for you, leaving 1,358.33 for final photography. Presumably this sum will carry over from year to year until we spend it. When the time comes with you we will need your specifications for everything you wish to illustrate and for the specific views of each.

The reason for this note at this time is that I have received an enquiry from our new Director, Bob Dyson, who wishes to know how we have used the money and to learn the current status of the project. The former I can take care of. For the latter would you supply me with a few choice words and prophecies, however wishful?

Incidentally, the prices for Museum photography have gone up rather markedly so that our original estimates for your work are now out of date.

Best Greetings,
