26 June 1981Professor G. Roger Edwards Mediterranean Section University Museum Philadelphia, PA 19104

Dear Dr. Edwards:

I will not be able to come to Philadelphia when I had hoped, since my sister-in-law (read "baby-sitter") is going out of town. So I will plan to come the 15th or 16th of July.

In the meantime, I am enclosing a copy of the list of objects I have chosen for the book. There are about 150 now, but I expect that a few may be eliminated later. This list is organized according to the locations in the museum where I found them, in order to find them most easily while working on them. I will also give you a copy of the list arranged according to museum catalogue numbers. The final arrangement of the book will be chronological.

You will notice from the notations on this list that I will only need to have working photos of the objects which have not been published somewhere else. When there are aspects of a piece that need to be shown specially in a photo, I have noted that (underlined) after the object: otherwise just a standard, straightforward view will do.

Thank you for all your help, and I look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks.

Sincerely yours,
