4-19-80Dear Professor Edwards, The photo arrived showing the 1934 skeletons found by Daniel and known as Romeo and Juliet. I thank you very much indeed for this and I am hot on the trail of all of the objects found in that assemblage with the bodies. I only see the one pre-natal form clearly on the right hand side while the other skeleton presumably holding the hand of the other figure is less clear but I shall have it analyzed. Last week I was telephoned by Dr. Wailes who informed me that I was one of five final candidates for the Penn Romanist position. This came as a great surprise since I had heard nothing since December and had assumed that the post would be at the assistant professor level. In any case, it seems quite probable that I shall be flown to Penn about Friday of this week for an interview. I would like very much to meet you and see some of the Kourion material but I realize this is rather short notice. Dr. Wailes will know my exact schedule since I am waiting to hear from him about when I should come to Penn. I look forward to meeting you and hope that at least I can bring you up to date on some of our spectacular discoveries. I do have a report on the late earthquake to give you and this includes a detailed writeup and re-evaluation of 29 coins from Episkopi which McFadden promised to write up but never did! Again, thanks so much for your photo. It is a great help.

Sincerely,
