June 4, 1961Dear Saul,

This is a belated reply to your letter of March 18 but I wanted to wait until I could report that the final thing I owe you, a copy of all the stratification charts, is finished and on its way. I have been fortunate in having a student assistant this term who carefully and intelligently checked all internal references in the mss. of both Bam and Kal., and I have had to spend several days at the Museum straightening out errors he turned up, which explains the additions and deletions on the charts. I have asked Roger to send them on to you as soon as possible. When you have all the other material he is sedding you, it will be up to you. [handwritten: With Astrom working actively on SCE IV,1, I feel it is urgent to get the Bamboula material out as a corrective, because I don't think it is possible to get a fair idea of LC III without it.]

We are fairly breathless, what with having just driven a truck from here to Miss. and from there to Wellesley with our possessions. That is a once-in-a-lifetime undertaking. Back just in time to pull ourselves together for sailing on Tuesday, and then on to Leros. Unfortunately I shall already have left London by the 27th, so we won't be able to meet then, but I wish you a good trip.

Greetings to the whole family from us both,
