THE ART MUSEUM PRINCETON UNIVERSITY PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY

January 29, 1958Mr. G. Roger Edwards The University Museum 33rd and Spruce Streets Philadelphia 4 Pennsylvania

Dear Roger:

This is by way of an interim report until I can check through all of the plans. I happen to have a list of the plans I took to Curium with me; that covers most of the material, since I left behind such things as preliminary sketches which amounted to duplicates and some finished drawings which I felt would be better off if not subjected to travel. I don't recall any plan of the acropolis, but my memory is far from perfect.

As you will see from the enclosed sheet, I had most of the drawings which I took along copied in one way or another in case the plane dropped into the ocean. Would you, by the way, care to have these copies now? (I also have microfilms of the notebooks.)

A.E. was the chief reason for telling Dick Stillwell that I couldn't go to Sicily this spring, so you can see that It's very much on my mind. I am planning to devote the summer to organizing the manuscript. When that is done, the illustrative material will have to be coordinated and some final drawings made and photographs printed. What I am particularly anxious to do is get things into a state of comprehensibility in case I'm mowed down by a Mack truck!

Cheerfully yours,
