Nicosia,9th July,1957.

D/Antiquities, Nicosia,

We have not progressed much further with the two samples M10 and M11 from Bamboula, Episkopi; we can say that they are not metallic, they contain large amounts of iron oxide and a trace of copper, and appear to be some from of slag, possibly from copper smelting, but quantitative analyses are required and we have not had the opportunity to do them.

In view of the long delay we are causing, I suggest that they be sent to your American correspondent who should be able to have them analysed rapidly in a geological laboratory where they specialise on such materials; I do apologise for the long time we have had these samples without providing a report for you, and am returning the samples herewith.
