August 10, 1954Dear Roger,

I assume that you are still in Cyprus although we have not heard from you or of you for some time. I am now working on the publication of the Stadium and I am hoping that you will be there for a while longer in case some points arise on which I may need your help. What I should like at the moment is to find out whether there are not some drawings (by Joe or Christofis) of pottery and sherds, or anything else for that matter, pertaining to the stadium or to stadium finds. They would probably be in the drawers of the cabinet in the drafting office. To this end, as well as for your general information, I append a list of the numbered objects found at the stadium.

Coins: C 1001 - 1015

Lamps: L 301 - 307

Metal: M253 - 261

Pottery: P 1121 - 1129

Sherds: Sh 1151 - 1306

Miscellany: Mi 326 - 354

All these finds are pretty crumby and to me rather difficult to date satisfactorily. If you have looked them over (or care to) and can give me any dope on them without going to trouble, I should be very grateful; however, the drawings are what I really want badly. I should also like to know, from Joe, whether he wishes me to add some notes from his investigation of the water supply system or whether the has taken steps to publish these notes separately, as I recommended he do.

Please give my regards to all and sundry, especially Joe. I am hoping to hear from you soon, and also hope that when you get back to the States you will come down to Baltimore and spend a couple of days with us so that we can learn at first hand of your adventures in Philadelphia; whether the Terracotta book is still languishing in Philadelphia; whether any progress is being made or not we dont know.

As ever

P.S. Roger, I suppose you got that awful list of TC nos. Cleaning up the other day I found under the sofa a card containing some more numbers for disembodied heads: Tr 1-2; Ts 1-2; Tt 1-3; Tu 1-3; Tv 1-3; Tw 1-2; Tn 1-2; To 1-3; Tp 1-2; Tq 1-2

I do not claim infallibility for the rest of the list, but I think it is more or less all right - if there is anything that seems too incredible, please ask because I can probably find out what is wrong. Hope you got the cat. cards for all but TC's which Ellen presumably sent with Stillwell.
